When typing a business letter, Im always seeing that on the subject part some are writing "Sub:" or "Subject:" and some "Re:"......I know when to use "Sub:" or "Subject:" , but i want to be sure about "RE:"(example RE: Your Advertising Board")..please serious answer..thanks.
RE: stands for REFERENCE>
Gives your reader an idea of what the subject is in regards too.
That way, they can prioritize your message.

Re:........this is the short form for reason;it is the correct way of writing a formal letter in most cases and it also shows maturity of the writer...........It is used in at the top of the letter after the address.

I believe that you would use Re: when you were sending a letter that was essentially a response to something put out by the company while subject you would use in a situation where the letter is not in regards to something the company published or printed.

Re is short for Reply.
If they have an ad or something that says "Worker Needed" as the subject of their memo, you might want to use the subject of your memo to them as "Re: Worker Needed". Hope that helps.
