When you pay to have stars in your name, who gets the money?,and who owns them in the first place?
Additional Details Sometimes you see adverts to have a star in your name. Then you're given a sort of map of all the stars at night, showing which star is yours. People do it for family,or someone whose died.
No one can own a star. I went through that just to know what's up their sleeves. Not to bother though

If your referring to buying a star in space.....I wouldnt bother, Its a big con, you might seem chuffed that you bought a star.. But.. How do you know that star you just bought hasnt been sold ten times already and wont be sold again tomorrow. Ok, you get a certificate, so does everyone else.
How can anyone sell somthing they dont own. ??
Same thing applies to companies selling off square feet of the moon, you and 1000 other people supposedly own the same square foot. unknowingly...
Dont buy stars or an area on the moon.

The company that sells the stars have the money tucked up tight in their bank account before you even get to see the star! Ownership, if you read the small print, is along the lines of "its just for fun, the ownership confers no rights of property....blah blah..."
So you are paying for a bit of paper that refers to a star that may (or may not) exist and that hundreds of other people could also "own". Basically the company is selling you a certificate which means nothing in law.
