Please tell me why the hell it's even legal to say something is greater than 100%? It's impossible. Once you reach 100% it's no longer a percentage. The definition of percent is per 100...
Or at least near the top. I have read some great articles about search engine optimization but Ive received mixed information. Im sure each search engine is different, so lets use YAHOO.
When you list an item on eBay, you're charged an Insertion Fee according to the table below. If the item sells, you are also charged a Final Value Fee. The total cost of selling an item is the Insertion Fee plus the Final Value Fee.

then be careful - cos if you accept Paypal - they will charge you as well!!

So to sum up don't sell it give it away.

There are a whole raft of fees that you could pay Ebay, but the basics are:
- listing fee: depends on the starting cost of your item, as per this link
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/fees.html
- gallery fee: this is 15p to put a small pic of your item on the search page. This is option BUT items with gallery pics sell quicker/for a higher price, so I'd strongly recommend
- final value fee: a % of the final price depending on what it sold for (see above link)
- if you accept Paypal (and this DOES encourage buyers) then paypal charge you a fee too. They tend to be around the same amount as the Ebay final value fee. Some buyers say in there listings that there will be an extra £X cost if Paypal is used, but this puts buyers off.
Suggest you need to price your item with all these fees in mind, so that your net figure is one you're happy with

Ebay has all their rates listed. Depends allot on how you list it and what youre selling and how much you ask.

they take a listing fee and a final value fee, then on top of all this you get hit by the paypal fee.
you really need to make up your losses on your postage which upsets a lot of buyers.

They take a percentage of the final price if you use buy it now, but they charge you a small fee (dependent on the type of things you use in your listing) for listing the item.
