If you receive most of your clients from your website or you would like to receive more then I suggest you write articles about your services, i.e. what specials are you offering at the moment? what services do you offer? Anything about your business, write an article about. You should basically become a journalist for your business!
Why should you submit articles to the various article directories?
1) It creates fresh backlinks to your website which increases your organic rankings.
2) Increases targeted traffic flow to your website
3) Other webmasters may use your article on their website which gives you even more exposure and traffic to your site.
4) Most directories offer free submission.

First decide where you want your ads to appear. Some ideas are:
Local newspaper, local high school newspaper, magazines that are relevant to the industry that you business is in, magazines that your target market of clients are likely to read, the radio.
Then go to the website and/or call the media outlets in which you want to advertise and tell them you want to buy an ad for your business. Some media outlets will send an ad rep to you to give everything ready for the ad to appear and they will let youknow the different price options. Others will talk you through it on the phone.
