Where can I advertise for free?
Recently I started a gutter business, any ideas where I can advertise for cheap or free. It is the beginning of the business and I don't want to have to put a ton of money in it at first.
Find someone who needs the service done and has access to a publication. Offer to do (whatever it is you do) in exchange for an ad in the local paper or on a locally-based website.
Talk to local real estate companies and see if they'll recommend you to their clients. Again, you may have to do a couple of jobs at no charge to negotiate this and prove you're good. They may also be able to place an ad in their publications. Most cities have weekly, if not daily, publications.
Another great thing you can do is make your own business cards, and hand them out everywhere you go. You can get a package of cards from Office Max and print them at home. They even have nice edges now, so they don't look like you did it yourself.
I also recommend Craigslist.org, especially if you're in a larger city. Post under Services.
Avoid stapling ads to laudromat walls and telephone poles - it looks unprofessional and desperate for business, and many people may think you have illegal immigrants working for you.

There are several places you can advertize for free it realy depends on what you are trying to advertise.

try looking into supermarket entrances...they usually have a foyer where you can post ads. If not, ask the management if you can place an ad there. Usually they will say yes. also try putting them on signage by street lights where people stop for a red light. It may get you some business too. Good luck!
