Where can I find a zip code list?
I need a list of every single zip code in the United States. I have to assign a person to each zip code. This will take the rest of my life to do. But my employer wants it done. I need to know every single zip code there is. Does anyone know where I can find these?
Thank you in advance for any help.

It's all got to be on the U.S. Postal site.

At my previous job, we used Spectra, a paid service, to get lists of zip codes and relevant information about that specific zip code.

Short of that, you can download raw zip data from the US census site. It is not perfect, but it should work. From my recollection (my project was slightly less annoying, but zip code related), the US Postal service does not provide a full/useful list of zip codes for public use.

And FYI, there are about 40,000 unique zip codes in the US. I'm not sure what your project is, but you might want to use a different system to assign people to geographies...

Below is a link to Wikipedia's ZIP code map. It breaks it down by regions and also includes full lists of all the zip codes for each state. Have fun!

Post office has zip codes for the United States available. That's a start. That should keep you busy for a couple days anyways.
