I am wanting to have a professional website, I currently have my business on myspace, but I realize that is not a "professional" site...just did it because it is free and I could post some of the pictures of my gift baskets.
My question is, where can I get a free website that will actually be good for my business? I have tried 741.com and a couple of others, and they just don't seem to have much to them. If anyone is using or has used a good site, let me know. I am not wanting to cough up the money right now to pay for a website, I just started the business and want to get my name out there first. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
freewebsites.com-- it;s free ,but they put a small ad on your site. But you have to watch, because if you want to start selling online, most free websites don't provide a database for your shopping cart software.
I know you don't want to spend the money, but godaddy.com is cheap and you'll get plenty of space for your site. Then you just have to build a website that the search engines will find so it can be found on a search.
It takes a long time and a lot of work just to get a little bit of traffic. It's not a matter of putting up a website and people automatically flock to it. I had a store online for five years, and it took 2 1/2 years just to get a high enough ranking on the search engines.
i prefer google sites. Check out http://www.google.com/sites/help/intl/en/overview.html for more info and examples
