You are better to go down the PR route with press releases on what you are doing etc.
Presumably you are suppliers to shops and supermarkets. You should be contacting them off line by phone and mail. The internet is not a place that shops generally look for suppliers.

Advertisement is not free - it is the major source of revenue on the internet. 'Free' adverts are good reputation and word of mouth. Yellow pages, google links etc all cost money because they work.
As previous poster said - sorry.
Also - adverts on the internet mostly hit the general public, you might need to target people who need a food supplier - look into this rather than plastering your name at the top of random web pages.
