If they do call, and you've been on the list for a couple of months, report them! You have to sign up again every 5 years.
(Update: looks like they changed that and you don't have to update it every 5 years, etc.).
You can tell them to take you off of their lists, however, do say "any and all lists that you have". See a telemarketing company may have more than one list (the list of people we sell X to, the list of people we sell Y to, etc.). If you ask to be taken off, make it clear that you don't want to be on any of their lists, ever. |

You can register at www.donotcall.gov OR you could do what my husband does that seems to be very effective. He tells them "I suggest you take my name off your calling list because if you ever call here again I will never donate to your organization" or whatever they are calling you for. We hardly ever get telemarket calls but I registered with the donot call when it came out almost 5 years ago. |
