I have this site: www.touchedbyhearts.com - and need to know how to get advertising started that actually works and doesn't cost a lot to start. This site is national and isn't designed to make a profit, as it's a service to help those in need. I am listing the site so you can see what it is to better help me in a proper place to list online that doesn't cost much but works.
I know about craigslist and forums - but that takes a lot of works and craiglist has rules about posting in more than one board. I need something that lists one place and gets national attention that is affordable. THanks
PS I am not a non-profit registered service and don't plan on becoming one as I do not want a board that I cannot assign to tell me who I can and cannot help. I wish to have the ability to help anyone and everyone who needs it. (to those who may ask if I am non-profit registered.) |

I know your goal is to advertise nationally, but what you could do in the mean time is act locally and if its really a site that helps people it will grow. People will tell their friends and family across the nation. If its a site that helps people, start by going to local places that people go that need help: Churches, Unemployment office, Police Station, Hospitals, Schools and universities, etc... Get a flyer made and/or get business cards made that have your website on them and give them to everyone you meet.
You might even want to get a t-shirt made for yourself to
advertise the site.
The question with advertising on the net is, will a lot of people see it? While there are millions of people on the net, you have to ask: Will millions of people go to the site I am advertising (my site on)? Companies that you see advertised everywhere nationally like ebay, yahoo, and google pay millions of dollars for that exposure on the net.
They all started with word of mouth locally though!
Sometimes Great things take a little bit of time!
