Invent your own special drink using your cream liquor as the primary ingredient. Come up with a catchy name (as an example, let's say you called your concoction a "Creamdream") and encourage bars to have "Creamdream Tuesdays" or some other special event where you provide them with an incentive to promote your drink. With every drink that's ordered, distribute a free 'Creamdreamer's Recipes' booklet or pamphlet. Be sure to provide table tents, point-of-purchase literature, maybe even offer to print local bars' menus with your 'Creamdream' logo prominently displayed. How about coming up with a special glass imprinted with your 'Creamdream' logo and urging bars to serve your drink only in your highly-recognizable glasses?
I'm a retired marketing exec; if I can be of any more help, you can contact me at rkoassociates@yahoo.com. If I'd see your product, I might be able to offer better suggestions. -RKO- |

If it is not a very common product then you really have to help people understand how they would use it. In any ads or promotions, always show how it can be used (types of drinks or straight up) and definitely research drink recipes that can use your product. Make sure those are simple, everyday drinks so that you are accessible beyond special occasions.
Second would be just doing like the big guys do and go to bars and let people try it. No idea how you envision it being used but let people experience it while out and they hopefully will come back again once it is on their minds. But remember, sampling like that is very expensive and takes time to get results (i.e people are creatures of habit, so the change in business will be slow unless you can tie your product to a widely consumed drink and you're just a new twist on it- so it fits with what they are already doing. |

Putting up an attractive display and having a marketing company do a demo and give out free samples in the liquor store. I do that with Tiger Beer from Singapore and our sales increased by 3 times, at least while I worked in the store and giving out samples. It's the best and most cost effective way to get people to try it. If it's something people like, they will buy it. If you are competing against Baileys, well, good luck. |
