If you have a popular, in demand item and you price it right, you can quickly sell it on Craigslist. Just be sure to deal locally and avoid money orders, wire transfers, etc. Plus, Craigslist is essentially free (minus your time and effort) so you end up with probably the most net cash.
If your item isn't as popular, or you are unable to sell on Craigslist, eBay would be an alternative. eBay has such a large volume of buyers, your item would have great potential of selling. The only problem--the closing price is not guaranteed and you do have to pay eBay a good bit of fees for using their site. There are also a lot of risks on eBay, so just be careful.
You might also try Jay Brokers...they are like a centrally located pawn shop that receive items from people all over the U.S. Jay Brokers pays a fixed amount upfront for your items, assuming they are technology related. |

More people will see your stuff on Ebay, but you have to pay the listing fee.
Craigslist will usually only give you local exposure, but it is free. If you have large items that are difficult to ship, CL is the way to go. |

Ebay , You can find hundreds of products that sell easily on ebay and really good profits , use salehoo, http://www.salehoowholesalers.com , its a very big wholesalers list you will find cheap brand name products that you can sell very well on ebay and a prefect guides on what to sell and how to sell

It depends on what I'm buying/selling. I like both. I've never actually successfully sold anything on ebay but I buy stuff all the time. I like the simplicity of Craigslist and that I don't have to ship anything or wait for it to be shipped... |

For sellers, eBay is the best market I've found. You reach the most people, including those people who think that a "high" price for the rest of the states is a "good" price for them. (Think Manhattan...) |

It really depends on what you want to sell, if you are selling a very large item, a specialist novelty item sometimes craigslist wins hands down, but ebay is more international. |
