i bought perfume and later found i could get it $50 cheaper elsewhere i sent the company an email with evidance of the cheaper product and they continue to refuse to refund or give store credit for the extra i payed. their policy on their web site even states "We will not be under sold on any perfume.
If you find a cheaper price elsewhere, and it is genuine, we will match it." thats a quote from their store policy! please help i think its incredibly wrong that they dont step up to their own policies.

I don't know where you are, but in the U.S. pretty much every state has a Department of Consumer Affairs, usually in the Office of the Attorney General. Go online to find this office. It's their job to help consumers get businesses to be fair and honest.

As the law stands in Australia - if they advertise a price matching policy, they must honour it. All claims made in an advert must be not only easily understood by everyone, they must be honoured - otherwise the advert is potentially misleading. That being said, it is up to you to show them the lower price *before* purchasing the item.
If there is no specific mention of a price guarantee *after* you have purchased an item, then unfortunately there is nothing you can do. You accepted the goods at the price they were originally offerd to you, so they are perfectly within their rights to refuse to offer a refund / reimbursement just because someone else later on offered the item cheaper.
In future, if you think you have been ripped off, you can complain to the government department in your state responcible for fair trading and consumer protection, and they can intervene on your behalf. But it is ALWAYS best to try and fix things with the store you bought it from first.
You could try claiming (at your state government's consumer protection department) that the retailers store policy isn't clear enough to be easily understood by everyone. You might get a refund that way... but frankly your odds aren't good. It is always up to *the buyer* to check all the conditions of sale *prior* to purchase.

Check it out with your Consumer Watch or Association. I believe they have sufficient clout to get at recalcitrant merchants like the one you mention. Advertising Associations can also sanction the merchant for false representation through adverts. Good luck. |

That may only aply if you find a better price before you buy from them.
they do that so if you see it for less youll ask them for that price just to make the sale.
