Woody | Who thinks the internet is becoming one huge advertising board? |
The net is becoming a joke to surf due to everyone trying to milk a dollar from every bit of content. Who agrees's its lost its charm. ? |

There's a ton of advertising everywhere but I've gotten to where I can ignore it. There's way too much useful and interesting stuff on the internet to worry about advertisements. |

it is. just like every other form of media. its only a matter of time before we all start to get junk mail on our cell phones too |

While it hasn't lost its charm (atleast not to me), it's absolutely jaded right now. But unfortunately it seems that that's everything entertaining- i.e. television, radio, even sporting events (look at all the crap in stadiums)...Idk what can be done, besides spam blockers. |

I am not going to B.S. you. I havent found a single online gimmick that actually makes me much money at all! I think all of them that tell you you are going to make a bunch of cash are a scam. However, I did find a couple of ways to make a few bucks here and there doing what I already do for free anyways.
I have a MySpace page, and others like it but the one I like the most is the one that actually pays me to have a profile there. Everytime someone looks at my profile or anything I have on my page, I get paid. No other social network pays you to have an account with them, yet they make a lot of money off you for having an account with them, because they put ads on your page, and when people click or view your page, the network gets paid for it! The cool thing about this one, is that I am the one who gets paid for people looking at my profile!
You can get your own account here;

or here

or here

The other place I found to get paid for something I already do is here;
http://hits4pay.com/members/index.cgi?c00ster
This one is just looking at ads, and you get paid for every ad you look at. You already have to look at them everywhere anyways, so why not get paid for it?
AND if you decide to get an account here, you will get a $10.00 bonus, just for signing up.
What I like about both of these is that you never have to pay a cent. No credit card, no money at all. You get free money basically. You dont even have to sign up for any "free trials" like those scams make you do.
I doubt you will get rich, I sure havent- but heck, a few extra bucks never hurt anyone! Especially when you probably already have a profile at a place like MySpace, and you already have to look at ads- why not get paid for them?

Most ads are stuff I don't care about. You gotta remember that advertising is one straightforward & easily accessible way to keep access to websites basically free. The creator gets money from advertising, saving you, the end user from paying. It's good business sense from one angle. I doubt it if the ISP hands over money to the millions of websites it 'channels', or vise versa.
I don't think internet ever had charm.
And no I'm not in advertising, but I watch ads to see how they entice people into the product or service. I think TV's much worse really, esp when it comes to manipulation & sensationalism.
Become an ad critic! Much more fun. |

Woody, the net is already the biggest advertising board. There's always the Good, the Bad and the Ugly in everything out there. The challenge is to focus on the Good and continuing with it. Yes its lost its charm to an extent but online marketing and its branches are here to stay.

I agree. I actually spend less time online these days. Just check my e-mail once or twice. Answer a question here and there ; ) The media in general has turned into one living, breathing piece of junk mail if you ask me. At least there are still good books to read out there. |
