(1) If you made it illegal, people would still smoke and you would be creating an illegal tobacco trade similar in nature to the existing illegal drug trade, or the illegal alcohol trade that flourished during the Prohibition era.
(2) The people who smoke would vote you out of office.
(3) You would lose a lot of tax revenue. |

MONEY!!!!
They are legal because the governments make money through taxes. Then hospitals in England say they won't treat smokers because of the risks but they take money from the government for there funding.
I am not a smoker but I think that this is wrong the way government mistreat smokers like this. |

Because they pay big bucks to the Congress Reps and Senators to keep them in business and not pass too strict of laws against them.
Secondly, there has not been enough people against them overall and therefore, they get away with what they are doing because this is still a free country. People are killing themselves in a lot of ways and this is the most illogical and stupid way to do it. |

Cigarettes don't kill people immediately while guns do. On the pther side each cigarette is adding revenue in govt. fund. Till date person dies from cigarette he pays a huge amount of indirect tax to government.
On the lighter side they give revenue & reduce population by killing themselves. While guns government have to spend money to provide it all security forces. its maintanence costs to government.
Now you decide yourself what you will choose - Revenue or Cost? Same govt is doing. |
