See, they won...your thinking bout it...That's exactly why they do outlandish things.
And the commercial is supposed to make you laugh, then think about the car, because at the end it refers to the car.
Marketing is meant to stick things in your head and associate general life with their product.
It is supposed to be stupid, guess you're just too mature for it. |

I agree with you. The crap that they put out now is horrible. What I think is even worse is they have to play them before the previews when you go see a movie now. |

Commercials are getting dumb because:
1) The idiots creating them are just that!
2) We don't find much funny any more as a society because it is inundated with Fear and Lust.
3) The consumers of this nation are mainly stupid, therefore you must appeal to their nature (Stupidity)!
They have plenty of ideas mainly in Europe. There are still some good commercials out there, but not many. |

I think it's cuz if the commercials are so stupid you remember them, the thought of it gets planted in your mind. And then like in your case, if you go to by a car, even if you don't remember the commercial, you'll rememeber the name of the car, and you might want to check it out.
I dunno, just a thought.

No wonder! Agencies are more interested in winning awards for their creativity than helping clients achieve more sales. Too much emphasis on creativity makes logic sidelined and without logic and purpose of ads would become sens less 30 sc airing.
That was the only reason why David Ogilvy banned his employees from entering such competitions. |
