Getting traffic is one thing; getting that visitor to buy is another. If you currently have a low conversion rate, look at your website objectively from the point of view of the buyer and ask yourself what is it that prevents or stops visitors from buying.
Ask yourself these questions
- Are you getting the right type of traffic - visitors actually looking to buy your products?
- Are you instilling confidence among your buyers? Identity theft is rampant nowadays, so how are you showing your buyers that you are protecting their privacy and information (e.g. Hacker safe seal, Verisign, etc.)
- Are you making the purchase process easy?
- How are your signals to purchase (e.g. are your BUY IT NOW buttons visible, etc.? |

Offer some reward for repeat business, i.e percentage off the next purchase for a limited time.
try to portray your business as being a big dealer that customers must buy off of in order to get the maximum savings and return on their equipment investment. |

I'm not a professional, but I'll try to give you some pointers from the consumer's viewpoint. Good traffic means you're getting plenty of visits so the question is, why aren't people sticking around to buy?
Are your products reasonably priced? Is the website easy to navigate? Is it too busy with pictures and links or is it "clean?" By clean, I mean, have you kept large photos and text to a minimum or do the pages take forever to load? I'm on a high speed connection and I've encountered sites that were so loaded down with graphics that it took some time for a page to load. Those sites are always a turnoff. |

Your problems may be very wide. You need a pro to look at all the factors. I had a simple problem of one missing link which lost me lotsa money.

Beacuse you did not give your website I can not say for certain without really looking at it but..
MOST peole who have website miss the following in their creations;
#1... the meta tags are either missing or do NOT contain proper datas.
#2...Submitting a site(s) to search engings is a big help.
