People like me want specialised items,and scour ebay for these bits.
A few weeks ago I saw a speedo and rev counter for an old bike that I have [better than what I had fitted].
I saw these the day they went on, decided how much I was prepared to pay [£200] and entered my max bid, the bidding started at £10 and every time somebody else bidded my bid went up until the bidding went over my max bid.
I didn't win by the way but I wasn't prepared to pay any more.
Some of us can not keep at a computer to watch the bidding and so just enter our max bid quite early.
I know it can be tough on people like you but if I want an item and know the max I want to pay I do it this way.
There aren't many bargains on ebay now, a few years ago you really could get a bargain |

people bid early and put a high reserve if they are not around when the bidding ends
i have done it myself and won what i was bidding on at a good price
why does it bother you anyway if you enjoy it do it your way |

You can use it as a tester bid to see what other people have bid as in, is the currrent price a frount to a much higher bid, etc.
There's lots of tricks, lots of psycological games to be played but i'm not giving away my secrets to the thousands on here, it's hard enough as it is! |
