You see these billboards constantly while you're traveling on the interstate.
"Joe Duplantis: attorney at law" and there's a nice big picture of Mr. Duplantis's mug right alongside the ad.
Is this really needed?
Does Joe think that if I see his face, I'll automatically trust him with my case?
All it's going to do, at best, is creep me out.
What's the philosophy behind doing this? How do people like Joe expect us to react to the fact that their picture is on the ad? |

I don't see what the fuss is about. The ads is about joe du.., the picture is joe du..'s. If you don't go to him, others will. So what's the problem? His bald head? He didn't buy it, it comes with age. |

Their picture is up there in hopes you will connect with the person at least in some sub-conscience way. That you will see them as a normal person and some one you can talk to. So when you come into the office you will already have a connection or an idea about the person in the ad.
Old people have the distinction in many cultures as being wise and trustworthy. Because they have lived a long time and have experienced more than the younger generations. America sees it differently.
The more people that recognize you the more popular you are and the more business you shall have. It really is simple.

Think as a client. Once you confront the guy, you will be treating him like he were a celebrity. This way our famous lawyer will be able to impress his client (perception), and he will be able to charge more for his service.
