Yes, they were generally pretty bad. The Hummer commercial was at least clever. I don't know why they weren't so creative. They made a big deal that the commercials were going to be directed more toward women this year, but I find it difficult to believe that directed toward women means not creative. So, a disappointing year for commercials. |

I don't think they're all that bad, but I agree, they're worse than last years. I liked the one with the horse trying to pull the cart, and the other horses pushing it for him so he thought he was pulling it. That one was cute. Last year I liked the one with the donkey that worked really hard and got to work with the big horses with the big feet. That one was REALLY cute. I think both of those were for the same thing. I don't remember what it was though. |

I have read somewhere or maybe seen it in a commercial that the commercials on television are designed to appeal to a fourth grade mentality. From the question and the answers given I can see that it is true. Who cares what the advertisements did or did not do, if you buy a product because some lizard named Louie (Budweiser) tells you to, or scantily clad girls dance around drinking beer than you are exactly what the advertisers are looking for, someone without a modicum of self control. Get a life, make up your own minds do not let the advertising agencies or the manufacturers convince you that their product is better than someone elses because a monkey, lizard, horse, cow, dog, semi-human, alien, robot or some guy yelling SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY tells you so, it certainly would be nice if the best thing to say about a sporting event, television show, play, movie, concert, etc was the quality of the performance not the disappointment of the quality of the commercials.
So now after reading this discourse I will give you an opportunity to purchase my latest book "the art of rejecting commercials" for only $29.95 plus s&h, it will give you the ability to tune out the commercial aspect of the entertainment medium, and by the way it is endorsed by: Louie the lizard, Ron Popiel, Pat Robertson, Tom Cruise, Cher, Joan Rivers and others, so buy now and save because if you call 1-800-sucker within the next 10 minutes I will throw in an additional book at no extra charge, hurry now they are going fast..........thank you very much |
