You can avoid it by making it a rule to mute them each time they come on. I do it and I find my viewing time a bit more enjoyable.

whether you like it or not they want you to remember it. If you talk about a particular commercial they are getting the recognition needed to advertise their company. If its a bad review, all they got to do is turn it around good and they made the bad taste in a consumers mouth good again. I turn the junk off, personally; although i hate going thru the trouble of adjusting volume each time. Can't wait til the digital age where we have option to be commercial free. Advertising will change.

they use themes and repetition because if we see it enough, through out the day things will trigger that memory and remind us to buy the product. That and also because people remember almost anything if you put music to it. All the important stuff they want us to remember as a child is put to music, when you study if you listen to music and play the music while taking a test you will due better generally because your brain associates what you were reading with the background music-- companies take advantage of that by using popular songs on their adds so that when we hear the song again - we think about their product- that or again with repetition if you hear a word it triggers a stupid jingle which in turns makes you want to buy the product. bastards lol
