I say, if one asks a question, one doesn't know the answer. Asking broadens the mind and why would one ask a question unless they don't know the answer. I understand someone who conducts poll or surveys asking around, but in the broader picture, no one knows the statistics until they're asked. |

If one just asks a question (aside from a 'survey') then one is hoping to expand their knowledge base, because they don't know. It takes courage to admit you don't know. |
