Its sometimes "Bad" ..as in...it stinks to high heaven...because the business owners who are trying to orchestrate it, havn't got a clue what they're doing.
...usually trying to "save money" by doing it themselves instead of getting professional assistance.
Little do they realize...and this holds true with anything...if you try to do something you have no expertise in...your are wasting money.

When it doesn't respect the customer. Without customers, we won't have brands and products/services to sell.
Marketing is sometimes bad when:
- the customer's privacy ignored
- the customer's preferences are not adhered to (if they have been specified)
- it targets the wrong target market
- it doesn't provide the customer with a benefit
- it doesn't take into consideration environmental issues
- it doesn't take into consideration cultural issues
- it doesn't tell the customer what it is used for
- under or over priced for what the product/service is worth
The above are just a few things on the top of my head. No doubt there will be others.
