The difference might be between 75k unique visitors vs. 75k visits. Unique visitors (i.e. first time visitors) is what you should aim for. There are some good SEO articles that might be worth checking out at http://directorix.net you can also submit your site for a free hard link. Hope this helps!

what's the subject matter?
how many competing website are there like your out there? 100's, 1000's, millions?
don't count on it ever reaching #1 or even being a first page listing - it's a lot tougher to get a high listing than it was 8-10 yrs ago when there was 1% of the number of websites out there that there are now

Maybe you're asking the wrong question. Increased conversion once you get visitors has a multiplier effect on your traffic and marketing efforts.

75,000 page views in how much time? If you are talking about a matter of a day or two than thats good, otherwise thats really not enough

Just looking at the title tag on your homepage suggests that you have no idea what your doing. who titles a page HOME PAGE?

second your not going to fool a search engine with a site that has no relevant content. Your site is useless!

Without knowing anything about your site I would say the question is what have you done to make Google and the other search engines think your site should be big? In order for you to make it to #1 and stay there it will take time and lots of other sites pointing to you as an authoritative source of information.

Sites like Wikipedia are at the top because other sites refer to them all the time. The search engines look at them as being an important source of information.

In order for you to get there you will need to do several things.

1. Article Marketing focused on well researched keywords
2. Social Bookmarking again focusing on well researched keywords
3. Partner with complementary sites that are your size or bigger.
4. Optimize your "pages" based on keywords so when the search engine gets a query it matches the information on your site.
