I agree with you~people lie to conceal more than secrets such as where they live, how rich/poor they are, who they have dated, who they know, etc. I know quite a few people who lie just to better themselves and sometime that just makes things worse~not to mention making themselves look like a liars.

People started smoking to get releaf.continious practice of smoking become a habit.then u donot have control on yourself.
Weather you are tired or not , after a fix frequency people require
smoke.Similerly in beginning people speak lie intantionely .On frequentely lieing it becomes a habit.Then man loose his controll over this practice.
So , Loving True is the best way to avoide telling lie.

Perhaps it's because they are extremely unhappy with thier lives.
It's equally important to note that Proverbs repeatedly denounces lying and Paul writes that "liers and those who love to lie go to the same part of hell as murderers".... that pretty much lets us know where God stands on the isssue of lying... that it's not "harmless".
