Why should you use athletes to endorse products?

Market research has shown that many athletes are very successful at pitching products.

Because if people like the athletes, they will associate your company with something they like.

we should NOT sue them
it waists our money..I said our money because the exorbitant
fees we have to pay them..make all our products cost A LOT MORE MONEY ..that you and I have to pay out for those products...
so all they need to do..is take some struggling actor and give them the job..and they make a few thousand dollars ..instead of the half million endorsement we give the athletes...
Think about it people...
it is our money they pay them..
lets get them to stop using athletes ! !

WHO RELATES TO ATHLETES, THE YOUNGER PEOPLE OF THE WORLD AND WHO BUYS ALL THE ATHLETIC EQUIPMENT, THE YOUNG PEOPLE SOOOO THAT IS WHY THEY USE ATHLETES TO ENDORSE PRODUCTS. IT'S CALLED SIMPLE DEDUCTION AND SMART BUSSINESS. AFTER ALL WOULD YOU BUY YOUR KIDS ATHLETIC EQUIPMENT WITHOUT THEM PICKING OUT WHAT THEY WANT, I DON'T THINK SO.

I agree, why should you? Many are actually poor actors and even poorer idols! I find it very hard to believe what many athletes have to say about products, I know they are just there for the money, not because they actually use the products!

Print (magazines, newspapers, direct mail). Media (TV, Radio), Internet. Of the many methods, using notariety is effective because it lends to
credibility. Realistically, the celebrity may not even really use or like the product they indorse in the ad. We would hope they would have the integrity to support that in which they believe. In reality, it is all about money.
I know it sounds greedy, considering the enormous salaries they are paid in their sport; let's not forget actors, well known retired political figures(does Bob Dole ring a bell/his Viagra ads straightened out great many people). Why do they lend their fame to endorements? Well, for most they make a great deal more money doing endorsements than they make in their chosen careers. Athletes and actors may possibly have short careers in terms of a lifetime. Many whose notariey earns them the opportunity to
endorse have foundations that support many charitable causes.
Andre Agassi's foundation educates poor minorities in the Las Vegas area. Andy Roddick, Roger Federer and others also funnel enormous funds into their foundations. Many of Andre Agassi's funds, go
in their entiry to his foundation. He recently contracted to endorse Nike under the agreement that his entire compensation be paid to his foundation. Many. many other famous individuals
have chariable foundations and causes. Many prefer to anonymity. Their are those actors who support passionatley,aids in Africa. Others, starving children around the world. I know that they seem greedy. Who needs all that money? Perhaps you may think that the answer lies within their sense of obligation to give back to that which has helped them find success. Some of the answers I read seem to indicate a jealous anger. If all of us would be able to earn incredible sums as a bonus from our jobs and career, who among us would turn it down? There are few whose donation and charities remain unknown, We hear little about the donations from a
"Bill Gates" makes; a Martha Stewart, a Donald Trump, a Bill Clinton, a Barry Bonds, a Joe Thiesman and many others.

rhuca6, I am sure that there are those who give nothing back. After all, I am not naive. All-in-all, many benefit from athete's participation in marketing and advertising. Let's not forget the profits the manufacturuers of the endorsed products earn. Healthy companies employ people. That is good for commerce and the economy.
