I don't bother them. I don't want them bothering me. If I want to buy something, I will find it. I don't need it to find me.

redchili68
Because the call at the worst times for example at mealtimes or just getting home from a long day at work. And they keep nagging you even after you say No thank you.

Most telemarketing happens when people are home. So it happens when people are eating dinner, watching thier evening shows or getting ready for bed. People dont like to be bothered. Especially when all they sell is crap. Theri always asking about changing your long distance or refinancing your home. They only people worse than Telemarketers are the email spamers. If a certain telemarketer doesnt like getting yelled at, he or she should find another job. Their are many jobs that pay the same and dont get you yelled at so much.

Because they are STUPID and don't know a good thing when it stares them in the face.

TM's are a Gold Mine if you know how to convert them. They are mostly poor suckers who got roped into a loser job out of desperation and if you show them a way out, they can be the hardest working most valuable business associates you could ever hope to find.

If they would bother to learn english maybe it wouldnt be so bad !!

We enjoy our private moments with our family's , Our homes to us are our get away from the out side world. Also if we wanted to buy something we would do so without someone trying to force something we do not want down our face.

I'll be truthful, its not just USA people that treat telemarketers in a rude way. It's anyone who has a telemarketer call them. If people don't treat telemarketers firmly then chances are that they are in a blessed place or have a very kind phone company that doesn't allow telemarketing calls. If you want a good compnay free of telemarketers: use optimum voice; i have the triple play, works like a charm. If its too much money: drop the cable tv; it is unecessary. Anyway, to call people late at night, to pester them inexorably to pay money that they don't want to give is soemthing i would consider rude. So telemarketers are in this way rude to people; they never even call at convenient times. One time when one of them called i asked if i could have his home phone number and i'd get back to him. He said: sorry i don't like to have hundreds of phone calls directed to my home. I yelled: GUESS WHAT, SAME HERE!!!

In my opinion the people treat telemarketers like a way in which nobody wants to be bothered by those annoying persons, trying to selling you good or bad things (Most of them, That you don't need them for anything)

I treat telemarketers in a respectfully manner, of course that If I'm not interested in the product which they are asking me to buy, I don't accept it, but in some cases the telemarketers made yourself to peace off; but what's the point? everybody needs money to survive isn't?

In United States I've seen that everybody lives in their own way to earn, earn, earn & earn money to survive or perhaps have a better lifestyle; like all the people say '' USA is a country of opportunities '' So that's why that all the foreign people come to this country to find a job and earn a very good money to as I told have a better life.
However, the americans have tried to do the same thing, causing point: Telemarketers, they are always calling to your home, cellphone, office etc to offer you alot of things, but the big problem is that if you accept everything that they offer you, you can get in a big problem, because you can get involved in huge debt. The best way to life, is to avoid every kind of money waste.

So, that's what it's; the people want to earn money, earn money, and they work for it; they give up their opportunity cost to make money and nobody wants to spend money in a foolish thing (Like the things that the telemarketers offer) So that's the point; of why the people treat the telemarketers in very rude way.

Nobody wants to spend their money, in things that you do not need, or things that you don't like! Because that money is yourse; it's your money from hardworking!! As many people think that in the United States we have to make money and make money, No matter how! So that's the thing in United States.

But try to treat well the telemarketers, just say '' I'm not interested, Thanks '' That's it!

Who wants to be bothered with all that stuff when life is busy enough, it's worse then getting spam in your email...not rude but it's annoying, i just say not interested and thank you

ballerinagirl
I think its because when you tell people ur not intrested they keep going.... and that makes ppl very angrey to have to keep repeating their selves I mean No is No so stop asking us to buy something if we dont feel like we need or want it...

one hot mamma
because they can't take no for an answer and get pushy

Kryp2knight
Because America is years ahead of everyone else. Give it a few years for where ever you are to treat them like thay are here.

Telemarketers have a bad reputation in the states. Especially high pressure sales people who call at the worst times. IT's a tough job to do, I have done it!

You know it's horrible how badly people treat other people. A telemarketer is a person just trying to pay their bills and put food on the table. They have no idea if they'll have a job the next day because of sales quotas it just takes 1 unlucky day and your fired. They are people, so when you treat a telemarketer bad your choosing to treat another person bad. This is not right. I saw a comment about karma. Karma means you'll be treated how you treat others. According to karma if you treat a person bad like a telemarketer it will come back to you maybe someone will be mean to you? Maybe the poor telemarketer gets fired because you treat them like garbage and they can't get their quota, maybe karma will get you fired at your job because you got them fired? We should all treat each other good and with respect treat others how you would want to be treated.
