Human emotions are very often triggered by color.Color can make the difference between buying and selling, if used correctly.
Everything we, buy, eat, wear, and all of the things that take up space where we live, work or play, all have colors. These colors provide a psychological and emotional response in everyone. These responses reflect who we are and the things that we think and feel.
The color white triggers emotions such as: purity, peace, and perfection. Red colors can stimulate warmth, hunger, and excitement. Cooler colors such as green and blues, enhance calm and content feelings.
Once a color is picked and "owned" it is associated with a company. Think about these examples: Coca Cola red, Tide orange, and John Deere Green.
In stores, colors identify flavors, brands, and products:
Green in a cleaner says pine- in a mouthwash says mint, blue very often means strong mint - icy cool. Clear means additive free. Red found in strawberries, cherries, and apples is very appealing. You would never choose gray for laundry detergent because you don't want gray clothes, you want brightly colored clothes. Blue, very unappetizing on a dinner plate, is much more successful as a dinner plate. |

Somewhat, yes, but less than many more important considerations such as product quality and price. |

you are just tapping into what gets us in a buying mood. Also consider lighting, displays and music |

oh yes, colors have a huge effect on peoples moods.
The colors you wear and see in your surroundings have a huge but perhaps largely subconscious effect on your moods, actions, mentaland emotional states of being and function.
Marketing experts ,psychologists, advertisers and designers have long used color ,to affect you directly . The color in your surroundings has amazing power to effect your moods and decisions.
The packaging on anything you buy has had the color scheme carefully worked out to encourage you to buy it. Restaurant color themes are often designed around appetite promoting colors such as reds and oranges. Colors are chosen to effect how long you will want to stay in the particular room depending on the kind of turnover they need. the colors of your food can increase or destroy your appetite.
We can use color as a tool to create wellness and contentment , to incite passion or anger, to calm and soothe, to express frivolity or seriousness. |

If the color is dull or dated then people will think that your products are dull and dated. Bright and clean looking showrooms make people think that they are getting something new and clean. |

the brighter the better, and the music should be relaxing.
color effects us in subtle ways that we didn't know.
white relaxes us. (hospitals)
blue tends to slightly curb appetite. (restaurants never paint w/blue)
red energizes. (YMCA, Bally's, NYSportsClub use red in their logo.)
so painting a nice white, or a slight gray (slate), or a cream or beige, will keep your customers calm... just don't paint it yellow... on walls, it's the color of insanity. |

Yes.. I would say a nice calming color.
If I were to run a furniture store I would paint it a light brown beige-ish color so that it kind of looks like a living room |

I think so. The color should feel warm like a real home. Burn some incense or a nice candle inside. |
