I'm pretty certain this is a scam, and I'm just so ashamed that at one point I fell for it. I was so excited. They told me that I won a total of $65,000, and that there were insurance fees to be paid. They enclosed a 'check' for $2999.84, and told me that was to pay for some of the 10 percent of the necessary insurance fees. I'm so glad that I investigated this incident because I might've done something very stupid like let this false company con me into sending them money out of my own pocket for a 'sweepstakes' that doesn't even exist. I also thought it was fishy that there were "insurance fees" I heard of taxes, but not so called "insurance fees." Insurance fees for what? The only insurance is the insurance that they're getting my money, for nothing in return. I just wonder how they got my address. Also, I'd never even heard of a company or lotto or sweepstakes called
"Trinity Royal." And why did it have to be in Canada? And why the hell do I have to PAY money if I WON? |

I received the check (2999.89) and letter today. After calling the number and getting the 'you have' "WON" speech with no catches, only how great that you are the 2ND prize winner of 65,000.00 dollars. And the check that was sent would pay the insurance fees and such, unless I wanted to pay the fees myself. That was the first question! They assured me because of being unable to process the cashier's check is why they needed these fees. After asking multiply times what the catch was and getting reassured , there was no catch but just good luck!
So after hanging up with the agent , I called my state consumer protection office .I gave them the name of the company and all the information, I was informed that this is a scam, and when you cash the check that bounces ,you ensure fees and penalties from your bank.
So my incredible 2ND prize winning of 65,000.00 is never on it's way, and the 2999.89 check for "insurance" is shredded.
Hopefully if more people receive these they will at least check in some way to see if this is legit! |

Hi,
It seems that scams are very popular now days... Don't pay
anything....
If you have a return adress in Canada.... and want to try and
stop these scams, contact the RCMP... Royal Canadian Mounted Police (Federal)....
You can find their web site easily....
Their is an effort me to help stop these sams in several countries....
The RCMP will investigate... It may not be canadians at all,
but just an address used in Canada...
Canada has a very small population... The RCMP should be
able to solve this in no time...
Sorry for the disapointment....
I know, because I am Canadian ... , but I got also similar
scams here in USA myself...
In Canada, they will catch them.... in USA= too much population with too few feeral police......

I think I need to report to everyone that I received a letter like this yesterday, too. The letter says I am the "second prize winner" for some "international prize award" with total amount of $ 65K. I don't believe this kind of luck at all. In fact I am wondering how many "second prize" they have.... For those people who are making this up and cheating people, I think they should be punished. |

Just got the suspicious check in the mail. I called the # listed and got a very unprofessional message response. I am going to check out what these people are up to. I wont pay one red cent for something I have won. If that is what it is. Otherwise I will let the local News anchor know that there is another scam in the works. |

No legit contest would ask you to pay money to get money.
It is probably in Canada because that makes it harder for U.S. agents to prosecute the scum who run these scams.
It's a scam, don't respond. The sad thing is that these guys do take some poor people for their life savings. |

I want to know what you found out about this company. I received a check on yesterday myself. I looked int the company name that it's drawn on and it is a legitimate company. I am concerned about the thing with insurance fees and all myself. So, I'll appreciate any answers you have |
