Depends on the intestate laws of the state of the decedant. Normally the surviving brothers or sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents, or cousins if no family then the money escheats. Reverts to the state and is kept as unclaimed funds for either a period of time or in perpetuity. Every state has intestate laws. You can look up laws on the net at www.findlaw.com and put in key words like probate or intestate.
