People like this will usually accept a postal money order or personal check, and won't ship until it clears the bank.
I would be careful dealing with anyone that doesn't use paypal because it doesn't require much to open an account, and if you are selling on e-bay it 's the fastest and safest way to do business and offers both the seller and the buyer some protection.
I would email the seller and ask them for the recommended payment they want, and cash is out of the question. I might also add that a certified check from you bank is a good way to go, Even if you a cheated out of something you will have a much better chance of recovering you money if you are using a certified or cashiers check from you bank.
Good Luck! |

Tread carefully my friend. I prefer paypal as you have more of a guarantee with payments. Remember, there are loads of con artists on there and scammers. Get yourself more knowledgeable about what to look for when bidding so you are not one of the innocent peeps that fall for a scam. I know people who have lost thousands. |

if they have good feedback, you are probably safe with a money order.
always read auctions very carefully and look at paypal availability and shipping costs, etc. you really don't have a n out if you are not reading carefully.
the seller should have their payment options (money order, etc.) listed in the ad somewhere. |

Pay by money order. Don't use your own personal check; that gives them access to your account number and bank info. Do not send cash, as you have no proof and no receipt. |

Ask them if they will accept an money order. If they do, go get one at the post office and mail it to them. I would not use a personal check, or send cash, or give them any credit card/debit card information. |

they should be listing their accepted payment methods in the listing ; they are under no obligation to use pay pal ; check the listing and then make payment accordingly |

I would send a money order--not a check--you can get a money order at the post office (they're a little more expensive than the ones you might be able to get at a convenience store, but I feel like they're more reliable/traceable.)
Check the seller's feedback first, though, to be sure that you aren't going to get screwed over. I have had that happen to me twice (in both cases, for amounts under $5, but still . . . )
With PayPal, you have some recourse, but not so much with other payment methods.
If the seller advertised that they were accepting PayPal and then told you they couldn't accept it, you may be able to take action--I would read the E-bay website to see.
People don't like PayPal because the fees cut into their profits. To me, E-bay's costs are more substantial than PayPal's, but that's just me, I guess. |

you have various ways of paying for items on ebay (personal cheque, postal orders etc) but you need to check what payment options the seller accepts. |
