who here believes that abortion is murder? if not, why not?
i believe that no matter if it's rape, the child deserves to have a chance to live. i know it sounds callous, but i'd rather advise someone to keep the baby and sell it to a good couple who would love the baby, than abort it...i don't believe it should be up to a woman to decide...someone else is at stake and it should become a law that abortion should be illegal everywhere...

for those of you saying i should be in that situation and see how i feel...why else do you think i came up with the question? i was raped! i decided to keep the baby...no matter how painful it was...and it was painful and horrible to think that the product of that bastard was in me, but it wasn't the baby's fault...i ended up miscarrying and didn't have the chance to see my own baby...i was raped and didn't even get the good thing of a baby out of it...so you out there telling me to not judge til i'm in that situation...screw you.
you're just close-minded people who don't know what you're talking about...obviously you like to make excuses for being able to do bad things so you don't have to feel guilty... |

I've always felt that this is sort of a "no brainer."
If you kill a human being, it is murder. Who really cares at what age you kill it? It is still a human life.
People will justify anything that serves them.
Why should a baby be destroyed because a woman is raped? Yes, rape is a horrible thing to endure. However... did the baby have anything to do with it? Is it the baby's fault? Why should one human being be killed for the crimes of another?
To me abortion is a cop out... now matter what the reasoning behind it is. If you can't raise the child, give it to someone who can. There are plenty of loving people who want to be parents and are unable to. How selfish it is to destroy a life and in the process, rob others of the joy they might have raising the child.
Taking a life should never even be an option.
Just another example of how selfishly sick some of us are.

They do not abort "fertilized eggs"... they abort growing living fetuses. A woman would not even be aware of a "fertilized egg".... most women would not even realize they were pregnant until weeks into the pregnancy, depending on their menstrual cycle. Then add to that the additional time it takes her to get to the clinic and actually get the abortion done. By that time we are speaking about a small fetus... a growing human being. |

i wouldnt consider myself pro or con abortion, but unless you have been a pregnant scared woman you have NO business saying what is the right thing to do. no matter what the situaiton is. if you are the one with something growing in your body. you would want it to be %100 your decision, whatever that is. it is nobody elses to make for you. its really easy to stand on your soap box until YOU are in that situation. |

Abortion is murder!! I don't think that a woman should have the right to abort a baby because it is a life that didn't ask to be put here. The woman knows what makes the baby and if she doesn't want a baby there are many preventions to becoming pregnant. That unborn child should have the right to live. Many women regret having an abortion after they do it, and if there was a law against it they wouldn't have that regret. There are plenty of wonderful people out there that would give a baby a wonderful home and they can't have children. |

Life starts at conception. It isn't the childs fault the s/he was made but s/he has a right to life. There are over 2 million people in the United States that would love to adopt. The Courts need to overturn the Roe vs. Wade case.
If my child was rapped I would put the child up for adoption and made sure the thing responsible for the rape was put in prision.

Although I would never choose abortion for myself, I do believe under extreme circumstances a woman has a right to have an abortion. THough I do believe life begins at conception, I do not believe women who have abortions should be labled murderers.
what would you do if your 12yr old daughter became pregnant as a result of a violent rape by a relative? have the baby and give it up, risk losing your child to let your grandchild survive? what about emotional scarring of your child?...there are too many possible scenarios to think about absolutes. |

I do not believe in abortion, however also not right to force a young girl or woman to carry and have a child especially if she was raped by her father, brother, etc.. Also what if the young girl or woman knows the child is severely deformed. Do you know anything about childeren who are born from incest? Good question you had. |

i beleive it is if they are beyond a certain point in there pregnacy
but if it is nothing more than a fertilized egg then i dont see it as being wrong in extreme circumstances such as rape or endangerment to the woman |

NO. In the early stages it is a microbe. It is a difficult discussion and a horrible decision for women who have had to make the choice to abort. But sometimes a woman's life is way in the balance. Also, if you had ever been judgmentsexually violated, I think you might see it differently. Women making that choice do not need judgment, they need support.
If you feel that strongly about the right to a quality life, there are millions of poor children of colour probably right near you right now....go adopt or mentor (raise and feed) one or two. Put you money and action where your judgement is..... |
