what you need to do is what they do here ..they change the teachers grades every few years so they get a new look at teaching and the different age group makes things a lot better to work with and you can go on for several more years.
Try this a few times before you give up on teaching....you may even think about changing whole schools and or moving up to middle or high school
Good Luck

Absolutely! As a teacher your first responsibility is those kids. You will be less effective toward those kids if you don't enjoy your job. So if you can't quit for your own sake do it for the sake of the kids. |

If you are tired of teaching for just two years, yes, definitely, it is time to make a career change. If you get burnt out that fast, then it's not in you to be a "teacher". To be fair to yourself and "students", you need to explore other interests or talents you have and leaving the teaching to someone else who is totally into it. |

Oh my goodness, that's my biggest fear for when I become a teacher one day! I like "The Best That I Can Be's" response. It's short and simple. ^_^
Very obviously you're ready for a change. |

My mom is a teacher, and the same thing happened to her. You may want to start teaching a different age group of kids, or a different subject, or you can change teaching out of the classroom. My mom went back to college and is now becoming a guidance counselor. You can try going back to college and changing your field of interest. The possibiblities are endless! Try going to a few career counseling sessions, or seeking professional advice. Hope I could help and good luck! : ) |

Well, if you are tired of it then quit! No use doing something you will hate in a few years. If you love working with kids though, why not try to find a different job in the education department? Maybe a principal, or something like that? Or try teaching different grades like Junior High or High School. |

Maybe third grade isn't the right grade for you! Or maybe it's the school... Change either the grade you're teaching or the school. |

It's unfortunate that you're becoming tired of teaching. I have one year of college left before I become a teacher, I hope this doesn't happen to me.
I've learned from quite a few professors and friends who are currently teaching that the majority of people who end up teaching will end up leaving their profession within in the first five years on the job.
If you don't like the job, I say leave and find something you do like. You're boredome/hatred for the job will rub off on your work and you're likely to be a downer to the students. (No offense, but if you aren't excited about teaching the students won't be excited about learning.)
If you're just getting bored, spice it up a bit. Maybe you're following the wrong teaching philosophy. Maybe the district you're teaching in isn't right for you. Maybe you aren't being creative enough in how you deliver the lessons.
Ask the other teachers you work with what they do to keep the job interesting. If it comes down to it, even, try asking your students for some ideas on what they want to learn or how they want to learn something. (group project, they teach, etc...)
Those are just a couple ideas... |
