Hmm.. It won't be WHSmith because its eduction based... and the recession isn't making the education system worse.
PC world and Comet maybe... just maybe because electronics are not exactly best buys in financial crisis's.
Argos... definetly not since they'll be looting quite a lot of Woolworths customers.
Game and Gamestation are going to be totally messed up by next year I think. |

Comet and PC world are already deep in poo, hence why both have been having constant sales and lowering prices for months. Homebase is also in trouble and a few of there stores are being brought out by B&Q and other DIY/home stores. Next i think will be shops like Jessops, Ham and Sewell. The higher end specialist shops which you can now buy the same product cheaper in Tesco/Argos or wilkinsons. |

Don't think Game & Gamestation will go - the games industry is about the only one that's growing at the moment, and the Wii & DS are attracting a new sector of gamers - my partner & the mother in law both got a DS for christmas, but would never have gone into Game normally.
WHS is looking a bit stronger at the moment - they had a bit of a reorganisation a few years ago to focus on their core business.
I'd say that the Dixons group will have to slim down. |
