Consider yourself lucky. Most 14 year olds don't get an allowance at all. When I was 14, my parents considered it my privilege just to receive food, clothing, and shelter for free. An allowance on top of that? No way! |

You are lucky you get anything. I have a 13yr old daughter and she doesn't get any money because I'm always buying her clothes, make up, admissions to a local pool, going overboard on her B-day and Christmas, etc. and that's enough!! |

You're 14 you could get a job but the reality is that you dont need to. What are you using that money for. You could ask for more but 5 dollars a week is very fair. Save it if you want something "rich". It is free money for a couple chores not bad, they give you housing, food, and transportation. Take some extra money! |

depends on how much you buy and what do you need it for at your age i got $20 a week now i get $30 a week and i just turned 17 today, i always spend my money like in 3 days of course i go out with my friends and i buy my own clothes |

kid you got it nice. i never was given money. if my parents dropped me 20 bucks a month when i was 14 i wouldn't complain. they made me work my *** off for all the money i earned and its taught me that hard work pays off. |
