You certainly are free to do so unless you are on private property where the owner has the absolute right to impose a dress code, as in a private school, or a military school, or a publically owned facility where likewise a dress code is imposed and enforced such as a prison, or a military base, otherwise express away, though it can get messy and I recommend a shower after you have fully expressed yourself. |

Of course you can, but you must remember there is the right place and right time for all forms of expression.
Free speech is not license to say anything when you want to. Free speech is not yelling "fire" in a crowded theatre and not getting in trouble. Were you to do that and someone got trampled to death your reckless words would result in severe consequences. Like jail time.
In the arena of clothing as free speech, well, you are not as "free" as you think. I imagine you are somewhere between tweleve and eighteen and still in school and living with parents or guardians.
Look around you. Every social setting has a wardrobe. Construction workers have an appropriate wardrobe. They will not be wearing swimming trunks on the job. Waitresses at Denney's will not dress like Hooters girls. Same goes for school and other social settings young people will find themselves.
You are free to express yourself, but remember there are places where you are freer than others. School is not one. School is a work place for everybody there. Save your wild and crazy or sexy looks for after school and weekends. |
