Yes, it's spam

Joanna
Yes I have and also from other countries, banking, estate money,
paintings etc etc.
Do not respond to these people. It is a scam. They offer you a percentage, which you supposedly will get by withholding it from checks and money orders you will receive in the mail. It usually turns out that you send them your personal check for the remainder of whatever you received (after you deduct your %) and eventually you find out that the "cashier's checks and other forms of money" are no good. This way you end up out of pocket for the check you sent them and you have to repay the bank for any of the money you have perhaps already used from your percentage.

Phishing.

Yes, be careful...better just to ignore and delete. They tell you that they are trying to collect or release money to an heir and need someone with the same last name etc...and that if you supply them with a letter they will transfer the money to your account if you split it with them...HA...once they have your account info, they drain your resources.

Keep in mind that the stories for getting you involved vary. They are criminal and can get you into trouble.
