Look into housing across the river in NJ. If you have to get a loan to front the deposit, you won't ever make the rent. Plus, the landlord will check your credit. And see that you don't make enough $$ to cover it. |

Try to avoid quick cash loans. What you could do is go down to your bank and find out if you can be granted a line of credit, in the amount you need or close to it. All they should need is verification of income, and since you have a job, it shouldn't be a problem. If the amount is not huge, they will grant you the line of credit, which is like a permission to overdraw up to the amount agreed upon. This will have a lower rate than most small personal loans would, and works similarly to a credit card in that you can make minimum payments until it's paid off, or just cover it entirely with your next paycheck. |

21 in NYC, you are almost definitely going to need to live with roommates unless maybe you are a wallstreet trader. Use craigslist, you can probably find a shared housing situation with a low deposit, there are all kinds of odd housing arrangements in the city |

Go to Prosper.com. The interest rates can be relatively low if your credit is decent. |

If you have a job and don't have terrible credit, you shouldn't have a problem getting a small loan. I don't know what they have in NYC but down here we have Wells Fargo, Citifinancial, and several independently-owned loan companies. You may be more likely to get a loan if the company is independently-owned, meaning someone has used their own money to start a loan business, not a franchise like Wells Fargo and or a bank. Good luck. |
