thebaron627 | Any tips on what is the easiest way to put in contact lenses? I'm having a hell of a time.? |

3 easy steps
1. hold up the top eyelid with one hand.(preferably with index finger)
2. sort of pull down the bottom portion of skin under your eyes with your middle finger
3. with the index finger of the same hand you used in step #2, place your contact in
if you need more specific help go to this link there is a video. the first part is a little commercial but afterwards, they will show you how to place your contacts in:
http://bausch.feedroom.com/iframeset.jsp?ord=445753
but if it doesnt work, here are some steps i got from bausch.com (the contacts company bausch and lombs website):
-Remove the lens from the lens case.
-Rinse the lens with a conditioning solution if desired (do not rinse with tap water before inserting the lens).
-Inspect the lens to be sure that it is moist, clean, clear, and free of nicks and cracks.
-Rub several drops of a conditioning solution over the lens surface.
-Place the lens on the tip of the index finger of the hand you write with. With the middle finger of the same hand, pull down the lower lid.
-With the index or middle finger of the other hand, lift the upper lid. Place the lens on your eye. It's not necessary to press the lens against the eye.
-Gently release the lids and blink. The lens should center itself automatically. Check your vision to be sure that the lens is in the proper position.
-Use the same technique or reverse the hands to insert the other lens.
If your vision is blurred after you put your contact lens in
Your lens may not be centered on your eye.
There may be cosmetics or oils on your lens. Remove the lens, and clean, rinse, and disinfect it. Then insert it again.
Your lens may be in the wrong eye.
If your vision is still blurred, remove your lens and contact your eye care practitioner. |

Yeah, I wear them and I have a hard time putting them in too. First, make sure your hand is dry & make sure the contacts are wet. Open your eye really wide and hold your eyelid open with your middle finger from the other hand and hold the bottom of your eye open with the middle finger that has the contact in it. Look straight into it, or up and just pop it in. It should work, but if it doesn't then put your contacts in the solution, and try again. Sorry so long & confusing. Hope it works!! |

take your time. It took me 30 minutes just to put in my first one. Make sure it is wet but not too wet. use both hands, one to hold the eye open and one to place it. refuse to let yourself blink but do move your eye around slowly.
You can go to an eye Dr. like at walmart, let them know you are having trouble ask them if they have a vidio they could show you to help you have a better idea, with a Dr. there you will be able to do it right with out hurting yourself. They are usually very nice and patient. |

Here's what works for me:
-Gently shake any excess solution off the lens with your left hand, then place the lens on your dry right index finger.
-Use the middle finger of your right hand to pull your lower eyelid down.
-Use the middle finger of your left hand to pull your upper eyelid up.
-Look toward your nose and slightly up.
-Gently place the lens on the white part of your eye, then turn your eye to look into the lens. You can use your fingers to help your eyelids move the lens around on your eye if you need to. |

Yep, turtlegirl is right.
Make sure your finger is dry before putting the lens on it, it will help it stick to your eye.
I had a friend who's mom had to put his in every morning, and he was 17. LOL. |

I wear contacts too. You make it really wet, and hold you head up. Not down! and insert it. It should be as good as new. |

Practice, practice, practice. When I first started using contacts I got really frustrated because I couldn't get them in. The more you do it, the easier it gets.
Also, remember the more you handle it the more you need to clean it or you risk eye infection. |

First get the contact on your index finger. Then hold your eye open with the other hand. Slowly toutch the contact to your eye until it sticks. |

Very carefully...LOL I just have it on my finger and make sure there is a drop of saline solution in there before I start. That always seems to make it stick better, but the trick is not to close your eyelid right at the same time =) |

I USED TO WEAR CONTACTS,TOO. THAT WAS OFTEN MY PROBLEM. THE BEST WAY I FOUND WAS TO WASH MY HANDS, PUT CLEAN SOLUTION IN THE PALM OF MY HAND AND PUT THE CONTACT IN THE SOLUTION AND CLEAN IT REAL WELL THEN PUT IT ON MY INDEX FINGER MAKE SURE IT WILL MAKE THE BOWL SHAPE THEN USE MY MIDDLE FINGER TO PULL THE BOTTOM OF MY EYE DOWN THEN PUT IT IN AND LOOK UP WITH MY EYE AND PUSH THE CONTACT IN TO THE CENTER OF MY EYE THEN LOOK DOWN AND BLINK A FEW TIMES TO GET IT ON RIGHT. BUT IF THEY ARE TO UNCOMFORTABLE YOU MAY HAVE TEAR OR SOMETHING YOU CANT SEE AND THAT WILL MAKE IT VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. GET SOME REWTTING DROPS AND KEEP THEM AS WET AS YOU CAN. THAT SHOULD HELP. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU OUT. GOODLUCK |

I got contacts when I was 12 and I had the worst time until my sister showed me her way. I've used it ever since.
For some reason, I always find it easier to do my right eye first. Put the contact on your right index finger. Use your right middle finger to pull down the skin under your eye. Carefully put the contact as close to the middle of your eye as you can. Try not to blink until you're sure it's in there or it will fall back out. Once it on your eye, blink a few times to make sure it stays. It might sting at first, but it will pass, it happens to me sometimes too.
This may not work right away, but after a few tries you should get it right. It takes awhile, but once you get used to putting them in, it's easy. |

ahhh very simple just make sure to wash yourr hands and lenses very well...as you dont want any towel fuzzys...dont dry them... haha then just look in the mirror and open your eye wide relax and gently touch your finger to your eye...just relaxx and dont get frustrated it will become as ordinary as brushing your teeth |

The best way for me to put in my contacts is to take them out of the container and use some solution to get them wet. Then I just place them on my ring finger and open my eye really wide with my other hand. The new Bausch and Lomb (Way off on the spelling I'm sure) really works great for me. I used to have the same problem! Hope this helps! |
