Yes, they are really this stupid, and the employees here are not much smarter. They delete accounts with no explanation, and they delete the posts that their paying customers don't like.
I find a lot of the questions and answers quite offensive, yet the yahoo answers team will not delete them. The minute I ask a question that offends a paying customer, my account gets suspended. |

I'll usually take my two points where I can find them unless the question is explicitly sexual, but a majority of the questions I see deal with common sense or asking opinions. If someone doesn't have anyone they trust in their life, the serious answerers on this forum can give that person the contact they need. And the hobby surfers can come up with info faster than someone who doesn't have a clue what a search engine is besides Google.
The other part of the equation is that so many persons spend so much of their discretionary time on the Internet that email pals and chat rooms take the place of what used to be IRL contacts. Where do you think cyber sex came from??? (BTW, all, that is going WAY too far in suspending belief.) |

I agree with MattyBoy AND with your comment. It seems a lot of silliness is propagated and it's just for fun. There are the ocasional serious question, answer though. It depends on what you're expecting to get or contribute to this site. Take it or leave it. People seem to be having fun here. Not only that but MOST of the time people are not mean or critical. It's a nice place to interact on a superficial level. |

You left out, looking for love in the wrong place, grammatical errors, spelling errors, and some really moronic answers (not the ones that are trying to be humorous, the ones that would qualify people to get interviewed for Street Smarts). There are a lot of dumb people asking and answering questions here, and all information/advice should be taken with a truck load of salt. |
