Are there any legit at-home-jobs? If so, can you send me to them?

I really like the idea of staying at home, but the home based businesses always seem like scams, and i'm not too knowledged on the online ones, either. I'd like to have some suggestions on where to try to find some? I know many are scams, but does anyone know any of the legit ones?

I currently have an online business that is part of the e commerce fortune five hundred companies. It creates residual income, its a home based business so you get all the benifts, it can be done full time or part time. Does not have a expensive start up fee and you can make real money.

That is why a lot of people turn to direct sales. It often helps to supplement income while developing something else. I am in two companies tha I find to be legit and have enormous potential without high overhead.

When you ask the question: "How to make money at home", people will brag about a company (they don't even know) and give you their affiliate links because they try to earn a commission or something if you join the company and/or buy a program.

You need to be very careful when searching a stay-at-home job ... do a lot of research about the company before joining.

I am the employment specialist for my church and there is a place called Rat Race Rebellion that has legitimate -- and very unusual, if you ask me -- work from home jobs. I get a weekly email from them. They have a nice writeup in the Wall Street Journal.

"Data entry", if you ask me, is over-rated, although I do have a single mom who has done medical transcription from home for years.

More common in home-based business are customer service jobs where you answer help desk calls, usually routed through your computer.

Some of the jobs in this latest mailer include:

* Answering a hotline for UHaul, calls for emergency road service come into your computer and you basically do customer service

* Answering trouble-shooting calls for video on-demand services

* If you have programming or bookkeeping and accounting skills, there are many jobs for telecommuting and some of the jobs are contract jobs (i.e., you need to design a website and you show your skills via a portfolio, bid x dollars on what the company wants)

* If you like to write and are pretty good, there are LOTS of jobs for bloggers, copywriters, and journalists to write articles on various topics

My sister wrote a short romance story for one of the grocery store magazines and was paid $1300! It's hard work and takes a while to break into it but what a great help that would be to the family income!

As for the jobs where they "sucker" you into buying a website... Yes, do be careful, but many are legitimate network or direct sales businesses sort of in the category of Avon, Mary Kaye, Arbonne, Pampered Chef. This is not *employment* and you do have to work hard to earn significant income (and be disciplined enough not to buy everything they offer!) Best advice I have there is to change your thinking from "employee" to "business owner" (i.e., invest a little bit in fliers, business cards, newspaper ads, samples, and websites). While helping people in my church group, I actually found one for pet food that is legitimate and very nice (it's in the Top 25 on that list). I do animal rescue on the side so it was perfect for me. I make probably between $300-600 per month, not bad for a little extra income boost at home.
