Girl2hip | Are we going into a Great Depression? ? |
Is it possible that we are going to go into a Great Depression? Considering the economy sucks, Dow Jones went down 580 points. |

If we raise taxes on anyone from poor to rich...if so then yes we will enter another depression. |

No. Do you see VERY long lines of people standing just to get a meal ?
Are people forced to stay at home(if their even lucky enough to hold onto theirs) for lack of having a job at all ?
Are they selling apples on Wall Street yet ?
There are some corrections that America is going through because of GREED- and no it's not all of Bush's fault either.
The hard working people of the US have got to begin to realize that MANY a politician in Washington should be replaced by new ones and that this proceedure should be ongoing to help keep all of them honest. |

Lol... No, a great depression would consist of a massive amount of unemployment which the government will simply not allow. |

If not now, we will be soon. Look at it this way. Let's say someone has a heart attack and survives with surgery. After the surgery, they are really careful; they eat right and exercise and really take care of their health. Pretty soon they start falling off the band wagon and reverting back to their old habits and gain weight and have readied themselves for another heart attack. Same thing with our economy right now. We've just had a heart attack and have had surgery (the bailout). Pretty soon everyone will start loaning money again and everything is going to be peachy keen. I believe the banks will again eventually revert back right where we are today. Except the the next time, we're not going to survive, we're not going to have a bailout plan and we are going to go right into a depression, no stopping at go, not collecting $200. So start now to be independent, start your own business, buy extra groceries you can keep on hand, freeze more food, look at cutting back your services to save money and don't change your ways--keep saving, because I believe the next time it's going to be a lot worse. I'm taking a lesson from this and being careful to live lean and mean, because next time we won't have this same bailout plan. Get out of debt as much as possible right now. Soon we'll have to purchase money like our parents did.....having cash on hand rather than plastic. The next time the banks will really be scared because there will be no bailout and when banks get scared they don't loan money or give out credit. They fold. |

No, we aren't as of right now. Although the economy is poor, it's going slow for many reasons. Being in a "great depression" is being in a state such as this for about a years time. Things should be looking up. We'll all be fine, don't worry about a thing!! |
