Remember if you are paying rent you are helping SOMEONE ELSE pay off their home. Why not take that money and help YOURSELF? There are a ton of programs that offer low or no down payment for first time home buyers which is what I got.
Now when I write out the check each month I know it is going to help pay off my house and not someone elses!

Renting. I'd buy if there was any way I could, but I'm a young professional in an suburban setting. You really have to either make an obsene amount of money or be married to own around here. It's really kinda depressing... *sigh* ...but maybe the housing market will cool down enough to make it possible. I am saving as hard as I can so I can take advantage of an opportunity if one comes up. |
