Card info can be taken from anywhere.
When you hand over your card in a resturant, they walk away with it and could be taking down your details then.
Cameras on the slot where you push your card in a cash machine.
Some shops have been reported for actually taking your card and giving you back a fake one, and they would have spent up to your credit limit before you got home. You don't know it's not your card. How many of us look to see if it's our card we have got back. I always make sure I check that it's my name on the card they give back to me now.
The bank should be o.k. They do take this sort of thing very seriously, and should refund your money.
Cancel your card and get a new one immediately. |

Unless the bank can reasonably assert that you wrote down or informed a third party of your pin number or committed some other breach, you will definitely be reimbursed. In the meantime, you need to have a new card/details issued to replace the existing one.
It happened to me twice in the space of six weeks. To be honest, the bank did what they were required to, but showed very little interest or enthusiasm in investigating, even though on the second occasion I had only used the replacement card just over a dozen times, and strong circumstantial evidence appeared to point towards where it had probably been cloned. |

You will get your money back providing it wasnt used with your pin number - if it was then the bank will claim you were careless or gave the number out xxx |

I don't how it work in your country but you should get your money back. In the meantime you need to have the bank hot listed or hot card your bank card. So it won't allow any more charges on the card and get a new card. You should do this in person. |

depends if they decide the blame was on you, if you were careless with your card or account details then you get nothing back. |

You will need to fill out a form for Alliance & Leicester and will probably be required to report the matter to the police.
As long as there are no suspicious circumstances and you did not reveal your pin number or give your card to anyone you should get your money back.
It may take a little while though. |

Usually you can get a refund - & if you can prove you weren't using your card at the time, that's even better. |

This happened to me. They bought something from Argos Direct from the internet for £350.00, and tried to buy something for £500. but the bank refused it due to insufficient funds,[which was a blessing].I am in the Abbey, and they were good enough to give us the £350. back. |

If you reported the card stolen before they spent money on it then probably. If you took out account insurance then definately. If both of the above don't apply, then maybe not. |

Bank certainly won't care! Demand a refund. Report it to police and get a crime number. Cancel your card now! If you get through to a call centre in India etc, demand to speak to a supervisor, calls are relayed back to UK. "Looking into it" is an excuse, call again and demand immediate action. You are the victim of theft. |
