Your fathers estate is responsible for the bill.
Which means that any assets he had at the time of his death will go to pay of this and any other bills he might have had.
You need to contact the executer of his estate, as named by the will, or if there is none ,the probabte court handling the estate.
Any excess funds due, will be wiped clean, however there will be no inheritance either. |

Contact hospital administration/billing they will explain everything to you. Many times these costs are written off - other times Medicare or Medicaid will cover the expense.
Best thing to do is contact the hospital soon and get information from them. This happens ALL THE TIME - do not be embarrassed and do not worry!!! |

I'm so sorry for your loss. Health Insurance is a HUGE issue right now in our country. My suggestion is that when or if you are old enough to vote in the upcoming election(s)...... do. Encourage your friends and family to vote in order to make the necessary changes to our government so that good people like you and your mom won't have to suffer. |

dude dont sweat it...they know damn well your not paying $80,000 for your dad to die in a hospital...they have to send out a bill...for accurate record keeping....tell your mom it doesnt harm her credit like credit card bills etc. you may want to send them $25 a month or something to show you are paying on that debt and not ignoring it. |

All you have to pay is $5.00 a month and they can not do anything about it because you are trying to pay it. |

Try contacting social services in your area. They may be able to help you with this problem. Sometimes the hospital have social services also so you may want to contact them too. |

a lot of times they will just write it off for you... they have insurance for those kind of things... it might take a few colletion attemts but they will let it go. Of course they want to see if you'll pay it first. I had this with an ER bill... i couldnt pay it so i just kep setting it aside, then a few months later I got a "bill" that said new balance $0
Sorry for your loss, and good luck. |

Try robbing a bank. If you get caught, you can plead mercy from the courts and they might forgive you considering your circumstances |
