Some banks allow a kid to have a debit card with their parents approval when they are a teenager. I think you have to be around 15 or 16 though. Also depends on the bank. |

No. Only give a debit card to your child, when they are going away to college. Start a savings account when they are young, and when they go away, they will have their own money to spend. |

Any parent can open a minor's account. I opened a account for my son at the Wells Fargo Bank. The account holder's name is my name as parent of my son and my son's name is in the account as minor. So if my son does a job and receives a check he could deposit it to this account. But all over the counter withdrawals have to be done by me.
I also received a debit card for this account. It was in my name. But I could give it to my son to withdraw money from the ATM machines. I only have to give him the PIN number for this card. He could use it to make purchases in stores because when the PIN goes through they do not compare the name of the card with the ID. Of course an additional fee will be charged by the bank to which that PIN reader belongs. I was surprised to hear that minor's accounts in this bank carries no monthly fees. |

If you have your own bank account and if the bank has debit cards. Your parents will probably have to sign for you and be responsible if you spent more than is in your account...then you have fines, penalties, interest....
If you're responsible and older, your parents might agree but if you're young or irresponsible, then probably not...after all, its a savings account and if you're using the debit card then you're not saving. |

Your parents would need to get the card for you... The bank might have an age limit for cards. Anyway in order to use a debit card you have to have a bank account with money in it. |

If you are under 18, all contracts are unenforceable against you - with a few exceptions. No one will give you a debit card unless it is your parents on the account. |

If you have a bank account and your parents signature, you would have to check with your bank about their age limit. Just ask one of your parents for a pre-paid Visa or Mastercard. |

Your dicision. There are so many questions. Do u want one? Will your parents let you? What are u going to do with it and so on. If u are under 13 then your parents have the right to say no. Hope u can get one. |

Visa makes a card where you can put on a certain amount for your kids to use. You make deposits whenever you want. |

A kid can get a pre-paid visa or mastercard in their name that basically works like a debit card. You load it with money (just like a checking account) and spend it on your card. You can go to www.visa.com for more info. |

When I was 16 I opened my own checking/savings account but my mom had to have access to my account. It didnt affect her in anyway because you cant go over on debit cards. So the answer is yes. Also...Im not sure if they still do this but VISA used to have a card that you could put your kids allowance on every month or any money and they could use that as the same deal. |
