No unless your a minor. If you are a minor then you can just work for your neighbors or relatives and just babysit or mow the lawn. If you want to work in a public setting then it is the LAW to have a social security number. |

You need to have a work permission to work even for half hour a week. If you're getting paid "under the table" you can work, but your income will be much less than legal limit. |

Not unless they pay you "Under the table". Which means in cash and they don't register it. So pretty much no. For their tax records they need your SS #. Try construction jobs. |

When I was working in Subway they never asked me for a social security number until like after a month that I had started. Farm work well out where I am doesn't usually ask. |

Check the Supreme Court. I remember a case where a guy thought his SS number was the mark of the beast and the Supreme Court let him not have a SS number. |

Not legally you can't. Even part time workers have to pay taxes. Now if you babysit or small jobs like that, then you don't have to have social security card. But at any business yes you do.
