That is debatable.
For most people it is a myth. Websites that pay people to do surveys or complete offers don't payout enough money for a person to survive on...usually.
In a rare and *not ever going to happen* note, a person who has an insane amount of active refferals and does nothing but fill out surveys and complete offers the entire day, may make a decent amount of money....I'm leaning towards myth. xD |

i think it may be a myth, i signed up for valued opinions with promises of lots of surveys some worth up to £5 each, but every time they send me one it just says they have reached their quota or i didnt qualify, so 3 months later i havent done a single one. |

I make an okay amount of money online between everything I do. I don't really keep up with how much I've made through surveys, but I can tell you that the more you do, the more you make. Here are some of the sites that I have been paid by: http://www.squidoo.com/payingsurveysites |

Spare change, more likely. Good money? NO
The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.
Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.
Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

I've not found any that actually give cash, closest I have got is vouchers, like Amazon, HMV etc... as well as items you can exchange them for and charity donations. |

This isn't a fast way to make money, but it's an easy way that doesn't require you to do anything you normally don't do. I like to use "Swagbucks" which is a google-sponsored websearch engine. The nice thing is, if you search with Swagbucks, you can earn points for searching and eventually redeem the points for gift cards, iPods and more stuff.
You won't be able to make $50 a week or anything, but if you're going to need to do a web search, why not get paid for something you were going to do anyways? You can sign up for swagbucks here: http://swagbucks.prodege.com/?cmd=sb-register&rb=140389
It takes a little bit of time to add up to enough points, but I saved them up and then had $30 in Amazon gift cards, which was pretty cool when I needed to buy textbooks from Amazon. |

I don't know what you consider good, I call mine extra money. I normally get $300-400 a month. I work full time so to me its a nice side thing. I have a blog that was originally for family and friends but it doesn't hurt me in anyway to give it to anyone. http://www.esurveys.blogspot.com it is my survey review site based on survey companies that I like and have paid me. they are all free to join. |
