My neighbour created his own business and took it public.
He has purchased and integrated several small companies, and frequently works on development projects with high profit CEO's.
The large university here often has him come in to speak with the business students, giving them tips with their business plans and projects.
He's a good example of a successful entrepreneur. However, he only has a 6th grade education. He had to quit school very early to help raise his siblings. He never went back and finished his schooling, yet because of his success he is telling university students how to conduct business.
So I'd say yeah it's possible to be a successful entrepreneur if you don't do well in school ;] |

Sure you can. Some of the most successful business people have been poor students. However, being successful relies on two very important things - having a good idea and being able to exploit it. As long as you have a good idea and a service/product that people want, you are halfway there. |

well yer, but i mean it would be handy to know business skills.
there is a lot of effort of doing this, have you ever watched dragons den, you need to research if the product is already out, then if you have an idea, you need a protoype, then you need to protect your ideas from copyright, which will cost a bit,
trust me, this could take you years to do, and you may not even succeed, i kinda crap at skl, so thats why i want to do teaching assisting, because you only need maths and english, and the course is fun, get yourself an education first, just as a back up

Yes absolutely! grades are not the be all and end all, dont let anything make you think that!
I aquired all my learning and skills AFTER i left school, as do many people.
Find an interest, study it in depth, then again, become an expert in your field. An do something with it!

Yes, I know of a case in which someone dropped out of school at 16 and went on to open up a chain of strip clubs, he know owns 4 Lamborghinis and a number of other exclusive sports cars. |

Most exceptional entrepreneurs did too... however, that doesn't mean that most people who suck at school will be entrepreneurs.
The odds are against you. If you suck at school for a good reason, like having a particular personality type, and yet you're hard working, then maybe you have a chance.
Running a business is the hardest most time consuming thing you'll ever do. Sure you want that? |

Yes you can. If you are going to run a business then you will still need to learn how. A great place to go is the library to find books about keeping records and runnning a business. good luck and god bless |
