I once found a Beetle in a can of Green Beans, I put the Can and Beetle w/ the Green Beans in a package added a Short note and shipped it to the ( Big Name Co.). To my surprise, I received a very nice letter stating " We understand your concern, and are very sorry that one of these well known pests managed to get past our inspection team. Please accept these other products, Free of charge, as a token of our appreciation to a loyal customer. I received a case of just about everything they canned....Except Green Beans !
Now, If you write or email most companies and give them favorable input about their product, they usually will send you some kind of coupon. |

I just complained to the bank about the charges we are made to pay them. My husband and I worked out that they had charged us £1,600 over the last 6 years.
We wrote them a letter that I downloaded from the internet and success!! We got it all back.
Hows that for a result!! |

well, i have never heard of anyone getting a huge supply for complaining about a seasonal shortage. i can say that i recently ordered a potted miniature rose to be delivered to my boss' wife for her birthday. she was delighted to receive a very pretty annual plant, but NOT the hardy perennial rose i had paid for. i complained to FTD that i understand that sometimes they have to make substitutions, but had paid the price of a perennial plant that could be planted in her garden for years of enjoyment, not an annual that would need thrown on the compost heap once it finished blooming. i got a $5 credit from them.
all i know is it never hurts to ask, but don't expect a hand out. many companies do offer coupons or discounts on their web sites, and there are several websites in the US that offer coupons for everyday items like baked goods, dairy products, brand name vegetables, etc... so you could always check that out in your area. |

I used to have an O2 contract on line. They gave me a password for my account but it never worked. So they continued to take money every month for my contract but I never saw a bill and they kept messing me around with the password. Eventually i said if you dont sort it out i will cancel my direct debit. They didnt sort it out so i stopped them taking the money. They then threatened to send me to court. So i contacted a magazine who had a consumer guy sort problems out. He contacted their press office and said if they didnt sort it out he would publish about what a crap company they were.. so they knocked £100 of the bill and provided me with a password! Amazing what complaining to the press will do! |

Good idea Katie B. Go for it and enjoy the freebies. And you will probably get better results if you concentrate on things that are to the company's advantage. Incidentally, you have an honest mum. Give her my regards. |

I complained about my bank charges, and got hundreds of pounds back! A very welcome bonus. I did a lot of research on it and became very interested in the process and the law while I was doing it, so I set up a website (address below) that gives you all the information you need to claim back your charges. The sites free to use, its ad supported to cover my bandwidth and hosting costs.
Bank charges are probably one of the biggest things that you can complain about, and you can get back hundreds to thousands of pounds (depending how many charges you have had in the last 6 years). |

I heard the same feature on Radio 1, I once bought a chicken burger from McDonalds and put a rusty paper clip in it and then took it back to complain. 2 weeks later I got £120 of vouchers and a letter explaining that mcdonalds dont use paper clips or Mc'Clips. Result! |

Usually these companies catch on though as to what your motive is. They might give some freebies to keep you quiet though. LOL |
